Kirk Cameron, actor and evangelical leader, delivered a presentation earlier this week to film students at Liberty University, a small, private college located in Lynchburg, Va.

Cameron spoke to students of the new Liberty University Cinematic Arts, Zaki Gordon Center on Monday, giving the students a sneak peak of his upcoming film project and answering questions on how to navigate their careers as Christian filmmakers.

"When Kirk Cameron spoke to Liberty University students last Fall, I was impressed with his sincerity as a man of faith and with his passion for returning this nation to its founding principles. Kirk is using his skill and reputation as a filmmaker and a popular actor to convey and promote values that are core to Liberty University's Christian mission," Jerry Falwell, Jr., chancellor and president of the university, told The Christian Post via email, referencing Cameron's previous documentary, "Monumental."

"Liberty is grateful that Kirk has chosen to involve Liberty students in his projects, creating valuable learning opportunities for our cinematic arts students that will benefit them greatly throughout their careers," Falwell added.

According to the Liberty University website, Cameron, who starred in the 1990s sitcom "Growing Pains," told the film students:

"I encourage you: have convictions, have standards, don't let others set them for you. They will set the bar too low."

"Set the bar high and perform for an audience of One [God] – and you'll get the applause of Heaven; you can just trust God to take care of everybody else. That's the motto I go by," Cameron added.

Cameron also expressed how impressed he was of the university's state-of-the-art film facilities, which are nearly new, as the Cinematic Arts, Zaki Gordon Center first opened in Spring 2012.

The influential Christian actor previously spoke at Liberty University for its Convocation Homecoming ceremony in October 2012, telling the students that their generation is the hope for the future, and they can "spark revival in the hearts of the people of the church."

Cameron has previously ventured into the realm of producing through his recent documentary "Monumental," which was released in March 2012 and sought to retrace the path of America's forefathers to connect America's roots with its current success.
