Kirk Franklin Partners with Kmart to Release Exclusive CD

Multi-GRAMMY winning artist Kirk Franklin and retail giant Kmart have teamed up to release an exclusive CD that features new remixes of some of Franklin’s biggest hits. The album, Kirk Franklin: A Season of Remixes, has been made available in Kmart stores nationwide.

The new album includes “Why We Sing (Kirk’s Cool Mix)”, “Brighter Day (Kirk’s Mix)”, “Revolution (Big Yam’s Jam Mix)”, “Gonna Be a Lovely Day (Meech Remix)”, “Lean on Me (Church Mix)”, and a bonus remix, “Brighter Day (Ernie G’s Mix)”.

“Kirk Franklin is one of the most well-known and respected Gospel Music artists in the industry today,” comments Ron Cunningham, Kmart Buyer of music and video.

In fall 2003, Franklin went joined a tour with the purpose to raise awareness of the need to break down the barriers of racism and discrimination. The tour was sponsored by the E.R.A.C.E. Foundation (Eliminating Racism and Creating Equality) and The Message Bible, (NavPress).

Franklin has been recognized as one of the top-selling gospel artists of all time, having sold over 12 million records to date. His latest album, The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin, was certified Platinum to mark his eighth Platinum record. His earlier project God’s Property, released in 1997, was three-time certified Platinum and The Nu Nation Project, released in 1998, was two-time certified Platinum.
