Kirk Franklin To Release First Album In Three Years This Summer

After ending “The Hopeville Tour,” the most successful Gospel tour of all time, Multi-platinum selling Gospel artist Kirk Franklin will be releasing his yet-to-be titled new album this summer. The album will be Franklin’s first since 2002’s Platinum selling The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin, which spawned a 2003 Song Of The Year Stellar Award for “Hosanna,” as well as the artist’s first studio album since 1998’s The Nu Nation Project. The album will be the first release on Franklin’s new Fo Yo Soul Entertainment label, in association with the newly formed Zomba Gospel Group.

In preparation of the new record, Franklin has launched a brand new website at www.KirkFranklin.us where he will be unveling sneak peeks of the making of the new album in the coming weeks and months leading up to the late-summer release. Also in the works is “The Takeover Team,” Franklin’s first-ever street team initiative, which will begin recruiting in mid-May.

Fo Yo Soul Entertainment is a multi-tiered enterprise which includes Nu Nation Ministries, the P19 Agency (an advertising and marketing agency) and a production company as well as music releases and a tour & booking division. Kirk Franklin’s vision to reach young, urban audiences is embodied in Fo Yo Soul Entertainment’s mission statement: “We’re seeking to creatively impact the world through the roster of artists and resources with Christ centered, innovative products and services.”
