Kirsten Storms, Brandon Barash Expecting Baby After Secret Wedding: Real Life "General Hospital"

Following their June wedding, "General Hospital" actors Kirsten Storms and Brandon Barash say they are expecting.

Barash, who formerly played the character of Johnny Zacchara on the daytime soap opera, and Storms, currently filling the role of Maxie Jones, are living in their own sort of drama. The couple recently revealed that they were married in June and now, in a surprise announcement, Barash says they are expecting.

"We're having a little girl in January," the dad-to-be said in an interview with People magazine. "It's been the most amazing couple of months of our lives."

The announcement comes as a particular surprise because Storms previously battled endometriosis- a condition known to lead to infertility. Because of the previous health problems, Barash admitted that the couple had kept news about the pregnancy relatively private.

"We kept things quiet because of everything that can go wrong during the first trimester," Barash, 33, explains. "Kirsten did have a rocky [time] and we were in and out of the hospital."

In Storm's current role on the daytime soap opera, her character Maxie has been pregnant for nine months and is just giving labor- an unplanned coincidence. Her real life pregnancy however, will not be written into the show according to Access Hollywood.

Amazed with the way that things have turned out, Barash said his wife is just starting to show.

"A couple of weeks ago she wasn't really showing, but now her curves have just taken over," the actor told People. "It makes me love her even more. It feels like a fairytale - we are so lucky."

Fans responded to news of the baby on Twitter, offering their well wishes. The couple responded with gratitude.

"Wow! Thanks to everyone for all the love! Brandon and I are very very very excited about this new adventure," Kirsten Tweeted on Tuesday after fans congratulated the couple on their news.

"Wow peeps...the outpouring of love and blessings is humbling. I love you all," Barash added on his own Twitter account.
