'Kong: Skull Island' Release Date, News: IMAX Featurette Reveals There's More to Discover

Warner Bros. is definitely on a roll as it begins to revive the Monster Universe. As such, "Kong: Skull Island" provides the first taste to audiences, and it is meant to be thrilling and appetizing to watch.

It can be recalled in the many trailers that the film has released that it only revealed the general plot of the story. A scientific expedition meant to discover the secrets of an uncharted island goes awry as the characters witness a gargantuan being who is warding off what he feels threatens the safety of the land. Revealed as Kong, it recounts events on how he has risen to be known as a monster king.

Apparently, there is more to be known about the movie. In the IMAX Experience featurette for the film, each of the cast members talks about bits and pieces of the story. "Kong is being reconceived as a myth come to life," Tom Hiddleston, who plays the tracker James Conrad, states. This is practically what the teasers have been pointing out the whole time.

They, however, reveal that more secrets will be found on the island. Considering that it has never been touched by humans, no one knows for certain what to expect from the place. Kong is just one of the unique things in it, but with the skullcrawlers and other towering animals within the jungle, it gets even more dangerous as they venture in.

It is important to note though that despite them mentioning the film is going to be man vs. nature, it doesn't necessarily point to a Kong against man duel. Corey Hawkins, who plays the role of Houston Brooks, says that he is merely one being that man will have to understand. This point out to the possibility that there is a different threat and that will be worth anticipating.

"Kong: Skull Island" arrives on March 10, 2017.
