Kris Humphries, 27-year-old New Jersey Nets forward, is wishing luck to Kanye West after the rapper expressed love for reality television star Kim Kardashian last week.

Humphries reportedly told a friend that West, 34, would need patience to deal with his wife of 72 days, 31-year-old Kardashian, according to RadarOnline.com.

"When Kris found out about Kim going public with Kanye, he told his friends he wanted to tell West, 'good luck dude, you are going to need it,'" a source told RadarOnline.com. "Kris knows that while he was with Kim, he was completely faithful, and he has serious doubts that she could say the same."

The news comes less than one week after West released a song confessing his love for Kardashian called "Theraflu" and the two have engaged in multiple public outings. In his song, West also mentions Humphries and insinuated that the NBA player's relationship with Kardashian kept her from the rapper.

"I admit I fell in love with Kim / Around the same time she fell in love with him / Well that's cool baby girl / Do your thing / Lucky I ain't had Jay drop him from the team," West rapped.

Still, a source told RadarOnline.com that Humphries knew that the pair had a history and requested while they were married that she stop contacting him.

"Kris knows for a fact that this alliance between Kim and Kanye has been going on for at least the last two years," the source said. "Kim kept in touch with Kanye after she married Kris and promised him that she would cut off communication with him, but she never did."

Humphries reportedly suspects that Kardashian and West are publicly showcasing their relationship to promote their respective upcoming projects.

"A sour Kris is suspicious of the timing of Kim deciding to go public with the relationship because the new season of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' is premiering in May, and Kanye has released a new album," the source told RadarOnline.com.

In an interview last week with NBC's morning show "Today," Kardashian explained her relationship with West to host Ann Curry, and commented on his new song, "Theraflu."

"I completely respect and understand that you have to ask these questions, but I've said before, Kanye and I have been friends for years," Kardashian said. "You know, you never know what the future holds or where my life will take me. So... I like the song!"
