Kristen Bell voiced a refreshing take on weight loss that could not only benefit new mothers, but also women of any age.

The "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" star welcomed her first child, a daughter, Lincoln, with fiancé Dax Shepherd last March.

Shortly thereafter, Bell headed to work on the film adaptation of the television series "Veronica Mars."

However, the actress made a point to ignore the pressure to lose weight and decided to ease back into her pre-baby weight; a number she said she still has not reached today.

"I'm proud to sit out the baby weight rat race," Bell posted to her Twitter followers on Friday.

"I like my Lincoln leftovers because they're proof I did something extraordinary," she added. "I gave life to my new BFF & she gave me a comical amount of midsection skin."

Furthermore, the 33-year-old new mom graced the latest cover of Redbook magazine in which she discussed her baby weight at greater length.

According to her own estimations, Bell is still 15 pounds heavier than before her pregnancy, but has already lost weight by breastfeeding, low-impact workouts, and eating more fruits and vegetables.

As for the rest of the weight, Bell said she refuses to "make myself miserable for the rest of my life trying to get back to where I was before."

"I'm going to continue working out and see where it goes," said the star. "I'd like to get back down to where I was before the baby… but if this is where my body wants to be, so be it."

Bell noted that the support of her partner strengthened her positive attitude about the baby weight.

"All he did was tell me how much he loved me chubby," the actress said of Shepherd, who she began dating in 2007. The pair announced their engagement in January 2010.

"He even asked me to stay chubby after the baby was born," she added.

Moreover, Bell adamantly rejects today's pressure to "worry about something I could not change."

"Look, I'm like any other woman… I had to surrender to not worrying about the way I looked, how much I weighed, because that's just part of the journey of having a baby," said the actress.

"I am not a woman whose self-worth comes from her dress size," she poignantly added.
