Kristen Stewart Unhappy?

Often photographed looking morose during public appearances, actress Kristen Stewart has revealed that she wishes she were a happier person.

The 22-year-old "Twilight" star will appear in the upcoming film "On the Road" about the beat generation. Speaking to Jalouse magazine about her role in the Jack Kerouac novel's film adaptation, Stewart compared herself to the "On the Road" characters.

"I would love to be as excited as those guys were," said the actress. "I would love to be like this every day."

Stewart, best known for her role as "Bella" in the "Twilight" films, displays a much different look and louder attitude as her character in the movie.

While filming "On the Road," Stewart and her co-stars experienced real-life road trips as they traveled by car from destination to destination.

"Everyone who worked on this movie told me the same thing- it's rare to be part of such an experience," explained the actress. "If I wasn't a part of it, I would have been jealous!"

Walter Salles-directed "On the Road" will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 16. The film sees an A-list cast that includes Amy Adams, Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Dunst, Steve Buscemi, and Terrence Howard, among many others.

Stewart will also appear in another upcoming film, "Snow White and the Hunstman," which hits theaters June 1. The film features Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth in the twist to the classic fairy tale.

Speaking about her role in "Twilight" during a past interview, Stewart described her character's transformation into a vampire in the series as being satisfactory.

"The whole vampire thing- I wasn't excited to be white and all that," said Stewart to MTV News. "I was really more excited to finally get her there because she wants it so bad."

The next installment to the "Twilight" series, "Breaking Dawn-Part 2," is scheduled for release Nov. 16. The film will see Stewart star alongside her real-life boyfriend, Robert Pattinson.
