Wiig's new bob haircut meant cutting several inches from her famous long brown hair, which now rests beside her jawline.

Fans can catch the 40-year-old actress' new haircut again at the end of the week- Wiig will attend Sunday's Golden Globe Awards.

This year along, Wiig is slated to appear in films "Welcome to Me," "How To Train Your Dragon 2" and "Nasty Baby."

Meanwhile, Wiig joins a long list of actresses to recently chop their hair. Jenny McCarthy, Pamela Anderson, Jennifer Lawrence and Jennifer Aniston have all cut length from their famous locks in the past two months.

McCarthy also debuted her new look this week, posting photos of the hairstyle on Twitter.

"Hair cut. Should I go short or short short or short short short," she asked ahead of the chop along with posting a photo of herself with wet hair in a hair salon.

The next day, the actress posted, "Turn on #theview. Let me know if you like my haircut. #chopped"

Furthermore, McCarthy added a photo of her new above-the-shoulders length hair, which was coiffed into big waves with side-swept bangs.

Alternately, Jennifer Aniston explained that her new hair 'do was the result of boredom.

"It was kind of spur-of-the-moment," the star explained to Vogue.com in November. "I was flipping through television channels and I paused it to take a picture and I sent it to Chris [McMillan, her hair stylist] and he said, 'That's [stylist] Lawren Howell from Vogue!' And then he said, 'I just cut that!' So that's it."
