Actress Kristen Chenoweth has been injured while filming on the set of the CBS series "The Good Wife." She was immediately rushed to a hospital, but her condition is still unknown.
"While filming a scene for 'The Good Wife' in Brooklyn, a gust of wind blew a lighting silk out of place, striking actress Kristin Chenoweth," the studio said in a statement. The scaffolding reportedly hit her directly in the head, leading the show's medic to call for an ambulance to take her to the hospital.
"All of us at the studio and the show are thinking about Kristin and wishing her a quick recovery," the studio added. Chenoweth has joined the cast in a recurring role as a reporter covering Peter Florrick's campaign. She will explore the candidate's marriage with lead character Alicia Florrick.
Chenoweth has a long history in the entertainment industry. The "Pushing Daisies" star appeared on the controversial, short-lived series "Good Christian Belles/GCB." One of her most well-known roles, though, was not on film but on Broadway. Chenoweth was the original Galinda/Glinda in the hit musical "Wicked." She played opposite Idina Menzel, who was the title character, Elphaba, or the Wicked Witch.
Since then, Chenoweth has returned to the small screen with roles on "Glee" and "The West Wing." She is one of several big names joining "The Good Wife" cast in the upcoming season. Maura Tierney, of "ER" fame, will play an Internet billionaire, and Marc Warren will play Kalinda's estranged husband.
Fans have expressed their concern for Chenoweth and have wished her a speedy recovery. Fellow "Wicked" star Idina Menzel tweeted, "Worried about @kristinchenoweth Hope shes ok. Thinking about@KChenoweth hope shes ok."
"Glee" co-star Dot-Marie Jones also tweeted her support. "Prayers going out to @KChenoweth! Love you lil one!"
Chenoweth's condition was not known as of press time.
