Kruger, Jackson Parents Disaster: Mother Brought Up Mug Shot in First Meeting

Diana Kruger admitted in a recent interview that she couldn't be happier in her relationship with Joshua Jackson. Getting through the beginning of their relationship however, was not always easy, especially when it comes to meeting the parents.

In a live appearance, Kruger explained that she brought Jackson back to her German hometown for a first time visit early on in their relationship. But despite her mother's show of good manner, the elder Kruger didn't take long to get to business.

"I thought that we were doing so good and my mom says, 'Ah wait, I have something for you,'" Kruger recounted on Tuesday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live." "She goes into the office and comes back with this folder of Internet clippings of Josh with his mug shot."

While Kruger's mother believed herself to be clever, Kruger was far less impressed.

"She thought it would be cute to go, 'So I see you've been arrested ... at a hockey game. Who's fault was it?'" the actress recalled. "You can imagine. We were there for three days. [My mother and I] did not speak for two. It was not good."

Real life drama however is all a part of life. Kruger has said before that she appreciated her real-life role.

"There's never going to be a role more interesting than my own life," Kruger said during a recent interview with Marie Claire.

Kruger and Jackson have been dating for nearly seven years and the actress says she couldn't be happier although relationships are hard.

"All relationships are hard," she told the magazine. "It doesn't matter what job you have, or how famous or miserable or poor you are. It's about commitment."

Sometimes, the more difficult part is making room for someone new in your life.

"The hard part is the timing. When you meet someone, are you ready to make them your number one priority?" Kruger added.
