'Kung Fu Panda 3' Release Date, Spoilers News: Po Visits Panda Village; Becomes Kung Fu Teacher

After receiving the coveted title of Dragon Warrior in "Kung Fu Panda" and leading the Furious Five in battling Lord Shen (Gary Oldman) in "Kung Fu Panda 2," Po (Jack Black), the lovable warrior with an insatiable appetite for dumplings and noodles, must now take on a new role: that of kung fu mentor.

"Po, you must take the next step in your journey: from warrior to teacher," Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) tells Po in the third trailer for the forthcoming "Kung Fu Panda 3."

Nearly five years after "Kung Fu Panda 2" and almost eight since "Kung Fu Panda," Po and his warrior friends, Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Viper (Lucy Liu), Crane (David Cross), and Mantis (Seth Rogen), make their highly anticipated and long-awaited return in "Kung Fu Panda 3," which finally hits theaters this month.

"Incredible power awaits you," Shifu tells his student.

"If you only do what you can do, you will never be more than you are now," he admonishes. "I like who I am," Po responds. "You don't even know who you are," the kung fu master says, reminding Po, who was raised by Mr. Ping (James Hong), that he is disconnected from his biological family.

Luckily, Po's deepest wish is about to become reality, as trailers show the Dragon Warrior reuniting with his biological father Li Shan (Bryan Cranston) and visiting the secret panda village where his father and the pandas who survived Lord Shen's attack have been hiding ever since. Mei Mei (Kate Hudson), Po's arranged wife, is one of the pandas living in the village.

But a kung fu movie can't be without a villain, and this time, Po and the Furious Five will be facing off with Kai (J.K. Simmons), also known as The Beast of Vengence/Master of Pain/Maker of Widows. To defeat him, Po will have to build his own army, and to do that, he will have to teach the pandas how to do kung fu.

"Kung Fu Panda 3" will be in cinemas on Jan. 29.
