Kyle Busch Racing Victory Earns Spot in Chase for Sprint Cup Championship

Kyle Busch's victory at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday night has guaranteed him a slot in the Chase for Sprint Cup Championship. Busch has his eyes set on bringing home the championship.

"The championship is number one on anybody's list," he said. "I've yet to collect the big prize. One of these days it will happen. Maybe it'll be 2013," the 28-year-old racer told the Associated Press.

Though Busch has been critical of his car and crew over his career, he seems to be on better terms with them now, as he is focused on bringing home the cup.
"I appreciate [the crew] hanging in there with me, although I was pretty graphic sometimes," Busch said. "I'm passionate about winning, man," he added.

Winning in Atlanta on Sunday night was no easy feat for Busch. He had to outrace Logano, who was a heavy favorite. Logano was not too pleased with being defeated by Busch, and he expressed his feeling after the race.

"It's just frustrating. But in the grand scheme of things, it's a big points day for us to get into the Chase going to Richmond. This helps us a lot. A win would've helped a lot more," Logano said.

After winning in Atlanta, Busch was contemplative and humble.

"Look at what last year's champion, what he's going through. You've got to take the highs with the lows. Certainly I'm not very good at taking the lows. I'll be the first to admit it. But when you get the highs, you've got to treasure 'em, because you don't know how many more you'll get," the young racer said.
