Lady Gaga and Oprah Winfrey are teaming up to introduce Lady Gaga's "Born This Way Foundation" at Harvard University later this month.
Lady Gaga's "Born This Way Foundation" will be unveiled at Harvard University on Feb. 29, 2012. The foundation is intended to address issues such as self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development through education and advocacy.
The foundation website displays the message, "This Way, Towards Bravery Where Youth Are Empowered. This Way, Towards Acceptance Where Humanity is Embraced. This Way, Towards Love Where Individuality is Encouraged."
The event at Harvard University will also be featured on Oprah Winfrey's show, "Oprah's Next Chapter" on the Own TV network.
Oprah will also appear alongside Lady Gaga as she formally introduces the nonprofit foundation at Harvard's Graduate School of Education's Askwith Forum.
Policy makers, foundation leaders and youth will be in attendance for the event, according to The Associated Press.
The foundation is reportedly a joint effort between John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, The California Endowment and The Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard. Their goal is to foster "a new culture of kindness, bravery, acceptance and empowerment," according to a Billboard report.
Other guests for the unveiling of Lady Gaga's foundation include author and expert on spiritually and mid-body medicine, Deepak Chopra and U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius. Harvard Law professor, Charles Ogletree will also be in attendance for the event.
Lady Gaga's hit-single, "Born This Way", which the foundation is named after, talks about being accepted the way people are, regardless of race, gender and appearance.
Lady Gaga also used the "Born This Way" motto to label her world tour. The "Born This Way Ball" tour will start in April and will visit countries such as South Korea, Japan, Singapore and New Zealand. The tour already has over 110 dates and Gaga recently added additional Australian dates to the tour.
