Lady Gaga has managed to shock her fans once again, this time with an unusual new perfume which has reportedly become the number one best-selling women's fragrance.
The 26-year-old "Bad Romance" singer recently launched the new perfume, which is black in color, and that features fragrance notes of "blood and semen," the singer once joked. The perfume appears to be a hit among fans ,who are flocking to the beauty supply website Superdrug.com to purchase Lady Gaga's Fame, according to reports.
The fragrance has been described as being an "opulent, crushed-floral fragrance" and the black color allegedly sprays on "transparent once airborne," according to Mail Online.com.
The packaging is black and gold, and also available is body lotion and shower gel, which also feature the fragrance notes.
Gaga's scent is said to be outselling singers Beyonce's and Madonna's individual perfumes and Superdrug beauty director, Sara Wolverson, explained why the Grammy award-winning singer's perfume is in so much demand.
"Lady Gaga is a true original and she has brought something completely new to the fragrance market. While initial reports promised slightly scary fragrance notes the actual perfume is sophisticated, floral, addictive, moreish and sexy which paired with the black liquid and dramatic styling is truly original," Wolverson told Mail Online.
"We knew Lady Gaga would be popular but have been astounded by the rush to be the first to buy the fragrance," she added.
Buyers of Gaga's perfume recently shared mixed views on the fragrance via social networking site Twitter.
