Lakers News, Rumors: Jeremy Lin Sprains Ankle in Practice, Lakers Lose to Warriors

Recent news about the Los Angeles Lakers team indicated that Jeremy Lin, who was traded from the Houston Rockets this offseason, missed their preseason match against Golden State Warriors this Sunday because he sustained a sprained ankle while practicing.

The report from Franchise Herald cited coach Byron Scott confirming the rumors of the 26-year-old point guard hurting his right ankle during a Saturday practice.

"He probably plays in there Thursday," Scott told ESPN. "But today he was walking a little gingerly and did some more treatment today."

Meanwhile, the preseason match against the Warriors gave a 116-75 loss to the Lakers on Sunday at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Canada.

Warrior's Stephen Curry blazed the painted court with his 25 points, with six rebonds and six assists. Klay Thompson added to their 41-point led victory with his 16 points; David Lee, 14 points; and Marreese Speights, 11 points.

The Lakers' Wayne Ellington and Robert Sacre chipped in with their 12 points apiece. This was followed by Carlos Boozer's 10 points.

Lakers will opt to bounce back from their loss on their next game with Utah Jazz this coming Thursday at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. They now have a 1-2 preseason standing.

For trade rumors, HNGN indicated Phoenix Suns' Gerald Green possible arrival to Lakers or the Chicago Bulls.

The website cited Alec Nathan of Bleacher Report predicting Green's trade out which will likely to happen at some point this season.

"First, and perhaps most importantly, his contract is expiring after this season and he's due a meager $3.5 million during the 2014-15 campaign," he wrote.

"Second, the Suns have T.J. Warren waiting in the wings at small forward and recently re-signed P.J. Tucker to a three-year, $16.5 million deal. With Tucker and Warren possessing a nice combination of shooting, raw scoring ability and perimeter defense, Green could be expendable once the season gets underway," Nathan continued.

Earlier reports already pointed out that the 28-year-old forward would better suit joining with the LA Lakers.
