Lala Anthony Debunks Marriage Rumors, Honey Nut Cheerios Comments

Lala Anthony, 33-year-old television personality, is opening up about her marriage and her NBA player husband Carmelo Anthony almost fighting after a basketball game after she was compared to Honey Nut Cheerios.

Anthony's husband and New York Knicks forward engaged in a squabble with Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett earlier this year because of rumored comments made about his wife tasting like "Honey Nut Cheerios." Fans and media outlets speculated about the matter and "Inside The NBA" analysts poked fun of the rumor while including a box of Honey Nut Cheerios cereal on their program.

Although Mrs. Anthony tweeted her fans not to believe everything they hear, she spoke more in depth about the situation on Sirius XM radio show "Ear Candy Mornings."

"Garnett did not say that about me. He just said some things to my husband that he didn't like … It happens in the heat of battle," she said on the radio show. "People don't know what goes on on that court. Garnett's known for [trash talking]. So it got under my husband's skin and things happen but it wasn't about me."

The television personality admitted that some of her friends were making fun of the situation that she learned to laugh at.

"To be in the middle of that whole entire thing you had to laugh. If you don't laugh that stuff will start messing with your head and making you feel upset and down so I laugh about it," Mrs. Anthony said on the radio show. "I have great friends and family who are sending me pictures on Honey Nut Cheerios boxes, and we're making jokes about it."

Aside from the rumors about her being compared to cereal, Mrs. Anthony has also made headlines for having alleged marital problems. However, she opened up to Ear Candy Mornings about the status of her marriage.

"We've been together for 10 years and I always say if people tell you their marriage is perfect they're lying ...We go through ups we go through downs just like everyone else," she said. "But we're doing great and we're raising an amazing son Kiyan who's about to turn 6 in like a week. He's so sweet and such a good kid. So definitely we're working through it and things are good."

Mrs. Anthony, 33, appeared on the faith-based radio show "Faith Family Live" that broadcasts on the WVOX 1190 AM station to reveal how she balances her reality television show, makeup line and family while in the spotlight.

"I've been so blessed in my life to have so many things I'm not going to complain about working and having all this stuff going on, I'm just going to figure out a way to prioritize things and make things happen," Mrs. Anthony said. "But most importantly, what I've found through the years is that as long as I'm aligned with God and my family everything else will fall into place the way it's supposed to. So I focus my energy on those two things first and everything else falls in place."
