NBA player Lamar Odom was charged Friday with one misdemeanor account of driving while under the influence.
Nearly two weeks after his Mercedes-Benz was pulled over on a Southern California freeway, the L.A. Attorney's office has charged the athlete with one count of driving under the influence. Husband to Khloe Kardashian, Odom has been at the center of rumors over the past month regarding drug abuse and potential marital problems.
The player was arrested on August 30th in San Fernando Valley after he failed to pass a sobriety test. If convicted of the charge he could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. A cout hearing arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 27.
Odom denied any problems with drugs or his marriage earlier this week after being affronted by a member of the paparazzi while leaving an L.A. sushi restaurant. When asked if he had a drug problem, Odom responded, "Nah, I'm good," to a TMZ reporter.
When asked if he had spoken with Kardashian, who allegedly had no idea about her husband's whereabouts last week he replied, "Of course! That's my wife. Of course."
"I mean, life is good," he told the TMZ reporter. "Life is good."
Last week the NBA player checked himself out of therapy after only one day at the facility, according to People magazine. A source reported that Kardashian had asked Odom to move out until he was able to get his issues together.
"Khloé gave Lamar an ultimatum: if he didn't get help, she'd end the marriage," the source said on Sept. 10, according to E! News. "So far, he's ignoring her. The situation can still turn around, but at this point, divorce seems imminent."
However, despite alleged disputes the reality star has still been seen with her wedding ring on in public.
