Lamar Odom Health Condition News Update: Does Ex-Basketball Star Have Serious Brain Damage?

Reports surfaced over the past couple of weeks saying that Lamar Odom is on a speedy recovery. But new developments are coming in, claiming that the former NBA and reality TV star is actually still in pretty bad shape, particularly pertaining to his ability to communicate and recognize people around him.

TMZ first reported that Odom has shown very little progress and that he is only able to utter very few words while at times looking like he's empty-minded. The same report alleges that some family members and longtime friends who visited him were shocked that the 36-year-old didn't recognize them.

After getting rescued at a Nevada brother last October, it seemed like the former Lakers player was on his way to recovery, even if he had to go through a coma and multiple strokes. But this time, according to the claims, doctors fear that he has suffered some brain damage.

Although there is no official word from the hospital where Odom is currently recovering, statements from people close to him are sparking rumors as to his condition. Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres, Khloe Kardashian said that Odom does not have a clue how he incurred his injury.

"We tell him he had a brain injury, but I can't tell him about how that injury was caused because it will set him back," she said.

She also added that Odom is confused most of the time, so they always have to remind him.

As of the moment, the reports are claiming that doctors are trying to figure out the extent of brain damage. However, there is still no definite timetable as to when he will be able to fully recover.
