Largest Graduating Class for the Southwestern Assemblies of God University
The Southwestern Assemblies of God University held the spring commencement ceremony for its largest graduating class, May 2. 177 graduates received degrees at the Sheaffer Full Life Center Auditorium in Waxahachie Texas.
Student speaker Nelz Samuel gave the message entitled, "It's Time to Go,” challenging the students to a life opened to God’s plan.
Christopher Gornold-Smith, the current missionary-in-residence at SAGU, gave the commencement address entitled, "The greatest thing a person can do is fulfill the plan God has for their life."

"Some people use up their whole lives doing something they weren't called to do. Find out what God's best for you is, whether it's as a missionary, a politician, a businessman or a teacher and do it,” said Smith.
Gornold-Smith graduated in 1961 from Elim Bible College, London, England, where he later served on faculty for 18 years. He has filled various roles including: pastor, guest lecturer, video producer, author and most recently as a missionary in central Europe.
President Kermit Bridges encouraged the graduates with his closing remarks, "Pursue God with all of your heart, find your place in the church and use your gifts and talents to help make a difference in the world."
