'Law & Order: SVU' Season 22 Episode Spoilers: SVU Unit Tackles A Shady Kidnapping Case

This week's showing of the hit police-procedural TV drama series "Law & Order: SVU" will see Sgt. Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her team racing to find a boy who got kidnapped for ransom.

According to the synopsis provided by Spoilers Guide, the SVU team tracks down a missing 8-year-old Owen Farhidi (guest star Kaeden Ruparel) who disappears from school. His mother Dana (guest star Brooke Bloom) meanwhile receives a call from a man who gave his ransom demand worth $37,000.

The summary indicates that the team was able to rescue the kid and his abductor was apprehended accordingly. However, things get a little bit more interesting.

It was found out in surveillance footage that Owen may have actually known the abductor. This led the authorities to believe that his mother may have also been acquainted with the perpetrator, too.

In a promo video for the upcoming episode titled "Parent's Nightmare," Dana strongly denies that she knows the kidnapper.

Things further escalate when Detective Amaro (Danny Pino) who is assigned to work on the case, got hindered on his investigation when Sam (guest star Navid Negahban), Dana's ex-husband, came into the scene and starts arguing with his estranged wife.

Meanwhile, Sgt. Benson will be asked to take an examination that would formally give her the responsibility of leading the squad. Followers of the show may already find Benson to be more than fit for the position; in fact, she's been doing the job all along.

A report from TV Guide indicated that Benson did get the Lieutenant position. However, tensions arise when she's asked to hire a "number two." This issue, according to the publication, will be tackled in the beginning of the show's season finale.

For the meantime, "Law & Order: SVU" Season 16 episode 22 "Parent's Nightmare" airs this Wednesday, May 13 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
