Lea Michele has finally opened up about her relationship with fellow "Glee" star Cory Monteith this week.

The 26-year-old actress met Monteith when they first arrived on the set of the hit Fox musical series three years ago. However, the romance did not blossom until director Ryan Murphy intervened.

"Yes, I would definitely say he is my matchmaker for sure," Michele admitted of Murphy during the PaleyFest Icon Award presentation in Los Angeles on Thursday, according to E! News.

Furthermore, Murphy confirmed his role in the actors' relationship during Thursday's event.

"I directed them in their first scene together and they had that sort od chemistry that you can't fake, and I said, 'Uh-Oh,'" said the creator of the series. "So I did kind of know. I take credit."

The awards ceremony also saw "Glee" stars Monteith, Jane Lynch, Chord Overstreet and Darren Chris, among many others.

Murphy went home with the first-ever PaleyFest Icon Award for his contribution to television after the event.

"A beautiful night honoring the amazing @MrRPMurphy," Michele posted to Twitter on Thursday. "So happy for him. What a joy to be in such an amazing room with such incredible people."

Michele and Monteith, 30, portray Rachel Berry and Finn Hudson, respectively, on the critically acclaimed musical comedy. The couple will celebrate their one-year anniversary in April, according to Omg! Yahoo.

"Glee" has earned Michele two Golden Globe Award nominations and an Emmy nomination, while the series itself has been nominated for dozens of awards with wins that include the 2010 Golden Globe for Best Television Series- Musical Comedy, among many others.

"Glee" is currently in its third season. The series airs on FOX Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. EST.
