Cleveland Cavaliers NBA 2015 News: LeBron James Likely to Miss Kings Game With Sprained Wrist
After missing Wednesday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, LeBron James will also likely sit out Friday's game due to a sprained wrist.
A report from ESPN.com said that the star forward suffered a sprained right twist "in the final seconds of the third quarter of Cleveland's 103-95 win in Detroit on Tuesday." James got the injury when he toppled over Pistons' Jodie Meeks and fell with his hands on the floor.
The site went on to say that the NBA superstar was given the necessary medical attention at the Cleveland Clinic the following day of the game. The MRI test revealed the extent of the injury which, as their sources said, "showed no structural damage in his wrist."
Recalling the incident, the four-time MVP said that he ignored the pain on Tuesday saying that it was only a "stinger" and still insisted on entering for the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Nonetheless, the 30-year-old Ohio native admitted he was afraid of the fall which he said happened to him previously during his high school years.
"I broke my wrist before," James said. "I landed on my wrist like that and actually, it was the other way around. I actually got taken out the air in high school and broke my wrist."
"So tonight I was on my way to either falling on my face, facedown or using my hands. My arms, just both of them, kind of just numbed up and I was a little scared too, for sure. Just trying to brace my fall with my hands," he continued.
James has averaged 26.4 points, 7.4 assists and 5.6 rebounds in 37 games since his return to the Cavaliers.
