LeBron James 'Too Tired' For 2016 Olympics, Commentators Say; His Position in USA Basketball Roster Remains Unclear After Championship Win

King James Just Had the Best Game of His Career and May Not be Ready for Another Competition

After bagging the NBA Finals 2016 title, LeBron James could just be too exhausted to participate in the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympics.

Commentators for GameTime on NBA.com mentioned that King James may need to recharge first after a gruelling seven-game finals series, which earned him the Finals MVP award. "He's not gonna play. He's gonna be tired," the commentators noted while they discussed possibilities prior to the Game 7 highlight.

Scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds, James was, no doubt, the best man on his team even prior to the Game 7 victory that sealed the first-ever win of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

James targeted the NBA Finals win after he returned home and successfully clinched the title, which the Golden State Warriors snatched from them last year. "I'm home," he said when asked how he felt about getting the NBA championship. "This is what I came back for. It doesn't feel real."

The Cavs star deserved the victory he worked hard for during the entire Finals series. He had an average of 29.7 points and 11.3 rebound for all the 7 games. He also made a triple-double for Game 7, making him the third player to accomplish such feat just like James Worthy and Jerry West.

Patiently Waiting for King James

With this historic win, many basketball fans are curious if LeBron will still participate in the Rio Olympics this August. By next week, the 12 players for Team USA are expected to be named. USA Basketball Chairman Jerry Colangelo has reportedly planned scenarios for the team if James decides to join or if he opts out of the Olympics.

When Warriors star Steph Curry announced that he will not be joining the US team for the Olympics, Colangelo is still patiently waiting on James' decision which he tagged as an "important" one.

"So LeBron is a swing," the USA Basketball chairman added. "If he doesn't play, then we have to tweak it." Colangelo expects that the answer will come after the NBA Finals is over. Now that the Cavs emerged victorious, an answer from James will likely come in the next few days.

Team USA head coach Mike Krzyzewski explained that they have not received a final word from James about his participation in Rio Olympics. The coach earlier said that he did not want to bother James since he was focused on the NBA Finals but noted that he could make a quick decision on this.
