Left 4 Dead 3 Going the Same Way as Half-Life 3? Valve Releases No News About Sequel

Valve apparently has some issues regarding a third installment in any of their popular titles. Fans have been clamoring for a Half-Life 3 for years now but there hasn't been an ounce of news anywhere which points to a release. Now, could the Left 4 Dead series be facing the same predicament?

The first Left 4 Dead title was released in 2008, with the sequel released just a year after. The second game seemed like a good closing point for the franchise but a series of leaked images and rumors had rekindled the possibility of a third title.

First there were the screenshots of a Powerpoint presentation containing images from the Left 4 Dead 2 Plantation level rendered in the new Source 2.0 Engine. There's also the allegations that Counter Strike co-creator and former Valve employee Minh Le had seen concept art for both Left 4 Dead 3 and Half-Life 3.

Currently, Valve themselves have not announced any news regarding the release or the development of Left 4 Dead 3 and most certainly not about Half-Life 3.

Meanwhile, Turtle Rock Studios – the ones who worked on the Left 4 Dead series – is busy making their own game, Evolve. The title is allegedly similar to the Left 4 Dead series and is also the reason why Left 4 Dead 3 is taking a while to make.

Of course, there's also the reverse where rumors point that development for Left 4 Dead 3 is delaying the production of Evolve. Until Valve or Turtle Rock Studios themselves make some official announcements, fans will have to rest on the possibility of the non-existence of a third Left 4 Dead title.
