'Left Behind' Movie Release Date: Trailer Shows Gripping Scenes Ahead of October 2014 Premiere (VIDEO)

A new trailer for the upcoming apocalyptic thriller film "Left Behind" has been released, revealing more gripping scenes for the fans to take a look at. It revealed a new angle of the plot emphasizing the father and daughter relationship between Rayford Steele and Chloe amidst the chaos.

The movie is based from the novel series of the same name, which was written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. It is a reboot of the original "Left Behind" movie that was independently released more than 10 years ago.

In an effort to introduce the film into the mainstream, production company Cloud Ten Pictures signed to re-release the film in a bigger budget while enlisting Hollywood's A-list celebrities to play the characters.

Directed by stunt artist Vic Armstrong, the cast includes Nicolas Cage as protagonist Rayford Steele; Chad Michael Murray as news reporter Buck Williams; Cassi Thomson as Chloe Steele, Rayford's daughter, and others.

The movie will talk about a group of individuals who were left after millions of people suddenly vanish in the Rapture, which plunges the world into chaos and destruction. The story is inspired by the prophesied events of the prophet John in the book of Revelation.

A show in the same vein with "Left Behind" includes the controversial HBO series "The Leftovers," which tackles the lives of people living in New York who are left behind after the so-called The Sudden Departure.

However, the film writer Paul Lalone said that "Left Behind" will present more "clarity" on the subject of the Rapture.

"I think a lot of the core Christian audience, I think they're going to be surprised at the clarity with which we presented the rapture. I think people are expecting it to be completely buried and barely mentioned," the writer said.

"Left Behind: The End Begins" is scheduled for release Oct. 3 in United States through Stoney Lake Entertainment.
