Legend of Zelda for Wii U New Extended Gameplay Trailer Released

Fans of the hugely-popular game Legend of Zelda surely had a blast last week when Nintendo put up a new extended gameplay trailer for its upcoming Legend of Zelda for Wii U game at the Game Awards which took place Friday night.

In a coverage report by IGN, the company bagged numerous awards including the Developer of the Year, Best Fighting Game (for Super Smash Bros.), and the Best Racing Game as well as the Best Family Game (for Mario Kart 8).

But one of the highlights for Nintendo was when they showed the extended gameplay footage for the first Zelda game to arrive in Wii U.

As noted by other game review sites, the footage does "look lively" and the big open world surely promised excitement for eagerly-awaiting players.

Forbes.com also commended one particular aspect of the game which is the horseback-riding.

"As Link rides about Hyrule on the back of his longtime equine companion, Epona, he can do so 'hands-free.' Link, and by extension the gamers who play Link, can trust in the horse to keep riding without having to steer," as the site described.

This aspect, as the publication cited, means that Link's hands will be freed up to do something else like wielding the sword or firing a bow.

Speaking of Link, the footage also featured the protagonist of the game leaping off of Epona with a matching cinematic of him slowing down time midair and dramatically landing on the ground.

"If the care going into Link and Epona's traversal options is any indication, we're looking at something very special in the Wii U's first new Zelda title. It must be getting harder and harder to not own this console," the site noted.
