'Legends of Tomorrow' News: First Trailer Shows Off New Superheroes

CW's "Flash/Arrow" spinoff finally has its own name: "Legends of Tomorrow." The upcoming show also recently released its first trailer, which according to a report in Cinema Blend, is the "epitome of awesome."

The show's trailer, as expected, shows off the new series' cast of heroes after it naturally re-introduces "Arrow" and "Flash," the shows from which "Legends of Tomorrow" was spun off of. Then it introduces an unlikely team of heroes and yes, villains, who need to get together and save the world. This includes "Atom" or Ray Palmer played by Brandon Routh, Martin Stein by Victor Garber, Captain Cold or Leonard Snart played Wentworth Miller and Mick Rory or "Heat Wave" played by Dominic Purcell.

What makes the trailer awesome, as the report says, is the fact that it also features several new superheroes who will be part of the series.

First off, the character to be played by Caity Lotz has finally been confirmed in the trailer. In a previous episode of "Arrow," her character "Black Canary" was already killed off, leaving fans wondering what character she will play in the spinoff. In the trailer, she is shown emerging from the Lazarus Pit, having been revived as "White Canary" or Sara Lance.

Another interesting character is played by Ciara Renee as "Hawkgirl" or Kendra Saunders. She has the ability to fly using wings that apparently emerge from her back whenever she is in need of them.

Rip Hunter is also introduced in the trailer. Played by Arthur Darvill, he is the time-travelling person in the team. He is apparently a member of the Time Masters, which is a futuristic organization who is tasked to protect history. It is he who puts the team together and tells them that they need to work together to "take on a bigger threat than any of them have ever faced." An immortal and brilliant villain called "Vandal Savage" is the one he is referring to.

The show is set to premiere during the middle of next year's TV season.
