"This G.I. is the cornerstone of his unit. The men who follow him into battle know one thing for certain: nothin's easy in Easy Company…" the caption for the Instagram post reads.

Comic fans may already know the character in question as Sergeant Frank Rock. Created by writers Robert Kanigher and artist Joe Kulbert, the GI is known for undergoing and leading his men through some of the most brutal battles in World War II.

It is yet to be known if LoT will keep the brave sergeant in the 1940s or put him in a more current war. Regardless of which, Rip and the gang will encounter him along the way as they continue their journey of defeating Vandal Savage.

Speaking of which, the synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic for the episode called "Blood Ties" hints some of the complications that the team will suffer.

According to TFC, Rip's idea to cripple Vandal in his pocket will find him and Sara infiltrating the villain's bank. However, things quickly take a turn for the worse when they are caught by his goons.

In another development, the duo Snart and Rory convinced Jax to take the ship back to Central City to steal a valuable emerald. Whether this item is related to the main goal or not, it has yet to be revealed. Meanwhile, Professor Stein helps Ray on a "dangerous mission."

"Legends of Tomorrow" Episode 3 "Blood Ties" airs this Thursday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
