It has been reported that Leiby Kletzky’s killer, Levi Aron, may have also tried to kidnap other young children in the Brooklyn neighborhood in the past.

Eight-year-old Kletzky was suffocated by Aron, 35, with a bath towel earlier this week in a murder that has devastated local New York communities. However, now it has emerged that one of Aron’s neighbors is accusing him of trying to previously kidnap her young son. She alleges that he only failed because she screamed which caused him to run away.

Neighbor Zisa Berkowitz told the New York Post that she has already spoken to the police to report the incident, which took place sometime in the past two years.

In another alleged incident, Aron also stalked an 11-year-old boy in Borough Park in Brooklyn. He is said to have been following the young boy in his car, the Post reported.

That child apparently noticed Aron following him and quickly ran home away from Aron to the safety of his parent’s house.

The murder of Leiby Kletzky has shocked the nation.

“It’s heart breaking,” Police Commissioner Ray Kelley said referring to the gruesome murder.

Aron has reportedly told police that he took the victim to a wedding upstate in Monsey. After the wedding ran late, he brought Kletzky back to his apartment Monday night. He told police that he had the intent of returning him to his parents the next day.

However, he is said to have panicked when he heard about the extensive search efforts for the boy. Leiby Kletzky’s dismembered body was found in a freezer in Aron’s apartment while other remains of the boy were found in a suitcase tossed in a dumpster a few miles away.

Police have obtained numerous surveillance videos that helped decipher the timeline of the tragedy. In one video, police report Aron baiting the boy off the street and into his car Monday evening.

Aron is currently in Bellevue Hospital prison ward as he undergoes a psychiatric evaluation. He has a high security presence around him and no unauthorized visitors are allowed into the ward.

The parents of the young boy are still obviously in shock and are continuing the traditional Jewish mourning period of seven days known as “shiva.”

It has also been claimed Friday that Aron has a history of sexual deviance and abuse. The information was disclosed by a protective order filed by his former wife. She has alleged that Aron was physically abusive.

Debbie Kivel and Aron later separated, but she has reported that even after that there was an incident whereby he crept up on her while she was sleeping and touched her inappropriately.
