LG Announces Slim Metal LG Class

LG has officially unveiled its latest smartphone, the LG Class, featuring a slim metal body and an 8MP front camera.

Following a number of rumors and leaked live images of its upcoming handset, South Korean tech manufacturer, LG formally introduced the LG Class, a slim 5-inch HD touchscreen display featuring a curved glass screen for a 3D effect.

Initially rumored to be a phablet, the mid-range LG Class follows the company's 2015 flagship, the LG G4, which it released in late May up to early June. The new handset, which runs on Android Lollipop out of the box, carries a 64-bit quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 processor with an Adreno 306 GPU

The LG Class is backed by 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to 2TB via its microSD slot.

The handset, which features a 13MP rear camera with a LED flash, is fronted by an 8MP snapper using the same sensor installed in the LG G4, with the addition of Beauty Shot, Gesture Interval Shot, and other camera features.

It also has a strong loudspeaker function equipped with a 1watt output for clear sound, and supports 4G LTE and 3G HSPA+, as well as GPS, NFC, Bluetooth and WiFi.

Equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack and FM radio, the LG Class is powered by a built-in 2,050mAh battery, measures 142mmx 71.8mm x 7.4mm, and weighs 147g. despite having a metal shell. Similar to the LG G series line, the LG Class' power button and volume rocker are located at its rear.

The new handset comes in three iterations of Blue Black, Gold, and Silver, and will be priced at $340 at major South Korean carriers where it has been made available starting Monday.

LG has yet to release information on when the LG Class will launch in other parts of the world.
