LG G Pad 8.3 vs. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 Review: Comparison of Specs, Features, Price

Most people find that a 7-inch tablet is just right for reading, but can be a tad too small for watching movies or playing games. Others adore the 10-inch tablet for its wide display, certainly ideal for videos and games, but it can be too cumbersome to bring anywhere else outside the home. Enter the 8-inch tablet, a great compromise, and nowadays, more and more people prefer this type of device as it offers a good user experience while still being extremely portable.

Here, we compare two 8-inch slates—the LG G Pad 8.3, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0.

Design:
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 is made of plastic and has a texturized back with a metallic strip edging the device. It measures 8.27 x 4.88 x 0.31 inches and weighs 11.11 ounces.

Though far from being impressive, both tablets have functional cameras, with the G Pad sporting a 5MP rear-facing shooter, while the Tab 4 has a 3MP rear camera. Both devices have a 1.3MP front-facing camera.

Price:
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 starts at $279, while the LG G Pad 8.3 starts at $220.
