LG G4 Release Date News: LG's Flagship Isn't Coming to MWC in March

For those who have been expecting for the unveiling of LG's purported flagship, the LG G4, this news may be a bit disappointing. The LG G3 successor will not be seeing the light of the day in March for the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona but in April for a yet undisclosed event.

"LG Electronics decided not to release the G4 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) exhibition in Barcelona in March," a source told KoreaTimes.com. "It may release it in April."

Yet another insider informed the publication that apparently MWC "was not the right place to show off" the next-gen LG G series smartphone.

The reason is that other bigger competition like Samsung will be there to present their anticipated Samsung Galaxy S6. This further suggests that LG will be waiting for the right timing.

"Samsung usually releases its new flagship model in the first quarter of each year, and Apple in the second quarter," the source said. "We need some in-between time to make a bigger splash."

PhoneArena meanwhile dished out that the April launching window for the G4 has already been said by an LG exec during the company's quarterly results press con.

"We rolled out the G3 in May last year so we do not plan to unveil the G4 at this year's Mobile World Congress and [will] spend more time perfecting the new phone," the executive said.

As already reported, the LG G4 is expected to arrive with a 5.3-inch 1440 x 2560 screen display with a 16 MP primary camera. The device, as said, will house a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM.
