LG Optimus F5 Release Date Set for April 29 in France, Global Launch to Follow Shortly

The new LG Optimus F5 mid-range smartphone release date will be on April 29 for French customers.

The handset will hit Europe first, followed by a launch in Central and South America, Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States over the next several weeks.

"The Optimus F Series is a new family of Android smartphones for consumers who are ready to experience the blazing speeds of 4G LTE without the high costs that normally go with such a device," wrote LG in the press release.

LG hopes to make LTE devices more accessible with this new line of devices. The Optimus F5 features advanced LTE technology along with an enhanced user experience.

Other specifications on the Optimus F5 include a 4.3-inch IPS display, a 2,150mAh battery, a 1.2GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, and runs Android 4.1.2, JellyBean.

"LG has consistently set the standard in the mobile industry with technology that com-plements, not complicates, users' lives," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "The Optimus F5 is a natural exten-sion ofLG's lineup of strong LTE devices."

LG improves user experience with other features such as QSlide which allows an owner of the device to open multiple apps at the same time in full screen mode with the ability to change the size, position and transparency of windows.

It also comes with Live Zooming that lets users zoom in on videos so they can get a closer detailer look at a specific area. Video Wiz lets users edit videos and enhance them with sound and music right on the phone itself. And QTranslator can instantly translate words, entire sentences and phrases when a specific text is scanned using the F5's camera.
