'Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII' Heading to Steam in December

Action role-playing video game "Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII" is going to be playable via Steam soon, as reports say that developer Square Enix is bringing the game to the PC platform. According to Techno Buffalo, the sequel to "Final Fantasy XIII-2" is coming to Steam on Dec. 10 and it will cost $19.99 at launch.

Twinfinite reported that the PC release of the game will come along with all of the downloadable content from the console versions including the Japanese voice-overs and costumes. It will make available favorites like the "Tomb Raider" Lara Croft and "Final Fantasy VII" Cloud outfits as an extra purchase. Schematas like "Divine Wear," "Moogle Lover," "Shining Prince," "Art of War," Flower of Battle" and "Dark Samurai" are some of the DLC included in-game. There will be a total of 14 DLCs available.

However, fans will have to say goodbye to the FFVII Aerith Costume as it will not be included and there are no plans to make it available in the future.

The official Steam page of the game also noted that it will follow the same storyline as the console versions that was released in February 2014. It will tell the concluding chapter of the "Final Fantasy XIII" saga and series heroine Lightning's final battle. With farfetched strength and an arsenal of new weapons, the legendary warrior set off to a mission to save the world.

Key features detailed include Lightning having a "highly evolved range of techniques for battles and exploring the environment." A new battle system is also incorporated in which it will provide direct control over the action.

Ecumenical News stated that popular characters like Hope, Fang, Sazh, Caius, Noel, Serah, Vanille, Yeul, and Snow will be included in the game. The PC version of "Lightning Returns" is also reported to support 60 fps frame rates and will come with multiple "graphics options" which are not revealed to the public yet.
