Lindsey Vonn Comeback Sees a Setback

Lindsey Vonn's surgically repaired knee is still getting in the way of her comeback, despite reports saying the skier was returning to racing with the Soelden race this weekend.

Last February, the Alpine champion suffered two torn ligaments in her knee after a violent ski crash at the world championships in Schladming.

Contrary to reports saying that Vonn's knee was healing ahead of schedule, the skier is not yet ready to start competing on the snow again.

"My training camp in Soelden went very well and I made great progress, but I feel that I need more training before I star racing again," she explained via Facebook on Wednesday. "The Soelden race is not in the cards this year."

Nevertheless, Vonn already established sights on defending her downhill title at the Sochi Winter Olympics this coming February. Furthermore, the skier now says she could be back next month when the World Cup goes to Beaver Creek, CO.

"Patience is not my strong suit so not racing is very hard for me but it will only make me more excited for the next one," the four-time World Cup champion noted. "I will go home to Vail and continue my preparation for the Beaver Creek races and my ultimate goal in February! Thanks for the support everyone."

The World Cup event in Beaver Creek begins on Nov. 29th.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old stepped out earlier this month at the Presidents World Cup gold tournament in Dublin, Ohio in order to support her boyfriend, Tiger Woods. The pair have been dating since January and first went public with their relationship via Facebook.

"Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating," the world-renowned golfer posted. "We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."

Alternately, Vonn took to her own Facebook page with the dating news, adding that she would not "plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between my family and close friends."
