Google Plus, Room Too Crowded For Another Platform: LinkedIn CEO

LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner made his thoughts about where Google+ fits in the social network arena known to the public at an event this week.

Weiner believes that with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn well established in the market and people already spending a good amount of time on them, you have no room or even "any free time" for one additional social networking platform.

"You introduce Google+, where am I going to spend that next minute or hour of my discretionary time? I have no more time," said Weiner.

The LinkedIn CEO seems convinced that the three popular social networking sites cater to all of people's communicating needs with Twitter allowing micro-blogging for announcing the latest events and updates; Facebook being used for communication among friends and family; and LinkedIn allowing communication within one's professional life.

"Where's the need for a new social network?" asks Weiner.

The LinkedIn chief however may be ignoring the fact that there may just be room for more social platforms to share the social networking spotlight now that, according to ForeSeeResults, Facebook ranks last in customer satisfaction which may suggest that even the most loyal users are ready to migrate a la Myspace.com to new social platforms like Google+.

Not only so, The Christian Post conducted an online survey with more than 13,000 unique votes and the results reflected for the most part that either Google+ and Facebook will co-exist side by side or that Google+ will dethrone Facebook.

It seems that if Facebook does not improve the service it provides its users or improve its image that has been affected due to recent user-privacy issues, then the current user-base of 10 million that Google+ boasts might soon thrive to many millions more.
