Two of the more popular teams in the English league, they may not have reached the heights that they expected so far, but they can still turn in a great battle to excite the fans.

For Chelsea, they were the defending champions heading into the year but their poor performances quickly saw them slide down the rankings. They were nowhere to be found in the battle for the title and found it difficult to climb up.

At the moment, they are ninth in the league but are a long way out of contention even for the European spots in the table.

On the other hand, Liverpool have done well but were expected to do a little bit more given that they have gotten new players and Jurgen Klopp as their manager.

While they are outside the European spots as well, Liverpool have one shining accomplishment so far, being in the final of the UEFA Europa League.

Though it isn't on par with the UEFA Champions League, being in the tournament final shows just how competitive Liverpool are and that they are headed into the right direction.

Furthermore, if they win the competition they will find themselves in the UEFA Champions League next year.

The Reds have a 10-point lead over Chelsea at the moment and with only six points left to play there is no chance of the Blues catching up.

However, this is a clash between two proud teams and both will look for a win.

Prediction

When they first met at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool got a big 3-1 victory and it is likely that they will get maximum points again in this clash.
