For Newcastle, they are 19th in the league and are risking being dropped out to the Championship next season if they are unable to climb out of the relegation zone.

With only 29 points after 34 games, the Magpies have 12 points to play to try and see them make it safely in the bottom half of the table.

They are only two points behind Norwich City who hold the 17th spot at the moment, but a loss to Liverpool can see their chances at staying in the league shrink smaller.

It has been a very tough season for the Magpies as they have only won once in their last nine league games.

In that stretch, they lost six games and only grabbed maximum points after a 3-0 victory over Swansea City.

With four games remaining in their schedule, they are set to face Crystal Palace after Liverpool, then an away game against the similarly struggling Aston Villa, before ending their season with a home game against Tottenham Hotspur.

On the other hand, Liverpool are riding on an all-time high at the moment.

Despite being seventh in the league, the Reds have a chance to climb to the European spots as they are only five points behind Manchester United for the UEFA Europa Spot, while only seven points off the UEFA Champions League spots.

Furthermore, the Reds have won their last three league games and have been very impressive in that run – beating Stoke City and Everton by scoring four goals. The other result was a 2-1 win over AFC Bournemouth.

However, one of their losses this season was against Newcastle in a 2-0 affair. Look for the Reds to try and avenge that loss and continue their climb.
