Lumia 650 News: Press Image Leaked

A reliable tipster in the smartphone industry recently got a hold of press images of the upcoming Lumia 650 and he has, of course, shared this with the public. According to a report in Tech Times, the press image made its way online through Twitter tipster Evan Blass, who goes by the username @evleaks. The image shows a device with a metallic frame, but looks like a Lumia 550.

The report also claimed that the Lumia 650 will be the last Lumia phone to be released by Microsoft, with most consumers expecting a new line of smartphones from the software giant. Rumors and reports about a new line-up of Surface Phones have started making the rounds online.

Based on the image leak, the device will be sporting a "sleek and polished design" as earlier rumored. What the image shows is that a metallic frame will be used on the device, which pleased most of those who have seen the image.

The phone's design, however, may be the only thing that is exciting about it. According to the rumored specifications, the phone will only have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset running at 1.1 GHz quad-core paired with 1 GB of RAM. Knowing that it may be the last Lumia phone, this may not bode well for the brand. Internal storage is only 8 GB, but is expandable via a microSD card for up to 128 GB.

The Lumia 650 is said to have a 5-inch screen with a 1,280 x 720 resolution, which is equivalent to about 293 pixels per inch. It will, however, come pre-installed with Windows 10 mobile. Its cameras include an 8-megapixel main camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. It will be powered by a 2,000 mAh battery and among its connectivity options include 4G LTE.

It is rumored to be priced at about $283 and will be rolled out within the month of February.
