Mabel Pantaleon, the "Dexter" actress with a history of depression, has gone missing, reports this week indicate.
Best known for her brief role on Showtime's aforementioned hit drama, 31-year-old Pantaleon has also appeared on "Mystery E.R."
The actress went missing from her New York City home on Sunday. Pantaleon lives in Harlem near West 157th Street and Amsterdam Avenue and disappeared around 9 a.m. Sunday morning, The New York Post reported.
NYPD are searching for the actress, who has struggled with manic depression in the past. Pantaleon is five-foot-seven and weighs an estimated 167 pounds, according to police.
Her characteristics include dark hair and brown eyes, and police believe she is in good health.
Moreover, the actress could be driving a 2004 Toyota Camry, and she was last spotted wearing a red t-shirt emblazoned with the rapper Drake.
In 2003, Pantaleon was the second runner up at the Miss Latina New York USA Pageant, according to the IMDB profile.
The online profile also indicates that Pantaleon dropped out of her final semester at the Registered Nursing Program at New York City's College of Technology to pursue a career as an actress.
The NYPD has requested that anyone with information about Pantaleon's whereabouts is asked to call the Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
In addition to television series appearances, Pantaleon has appeared in 2007's "Choose Connor" and "The Gleam" earlier this year.
Showtime's "Dexter" stars Michael C. Hall as a police forensics expert in Miami who doubles as a serial killer. Hall has received several awards and nominations for his role as Dexter, including a Golden Globe.
The crime drama series also stars Jennifer Carpenter, Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, and Lauren Velez, among others.
Season 7 of "Dexter" will premiere on September 30, 2012.
Executive producer of the show Sara Colleton confirmed that Season 8 will be the last season of "Dexter" and that writers already know the conclusion of the series.
