MacBook Pro 2016 Release Date and Rumors: Apple Laptop to Look Different than Earlier Models? Features and Price Details

Apple has not yet produced verified reports about the latest version of MacBook Pro. Instead, we have rumors saying that the new MacBook Pro will be released this year.

Rumors say that the MacBook Pro 2016 will not only have major software changes, it will also look a lot different aesthetically from previous models. In fact, iTech post says that Apple plans to make drastic changes on how the MacBook Pro looks. So far, the current MacBook versions don't look too different from the 2012 model.

OLED touch-sensitive function keys will replace the physical keys along the keyboard.
However, the Next Web is skeptical that the OLED touch panel will appear in the latest MacBook Pro. They said that "Speculatively, I think Apple would rather keep it simple; the technical and hardware debt incurred with an OLED bar is through the roof, and repairs on the new MacBook Pro likely won't come cheap or easy."

Touch ID function

This security feature is already available in the iPad and iPhone, so there's a possibility that it will be incorporated in the MacBook Pro 2016 as well. MacOS Sierra know has the technology for fingerprint sensing.

Rumors say that the power button will be a fingerprint sensor in the new MacBook. If this is realized, then MacBook Pro users will have the ability to turn it on and verify the identity of the user in just one touch.

However, some tech experts think that the Touch ID function won't be incorporated in the MacBook Pro 2016. That's because Apple already introduced the Apple Watch, which can be used to verify a user's identity to login to the device.

Other features

The MacBook Pro 2016 will most likely be slimmer than the previous models. It will also have a butterfly keyboard mechanism, which Apple claims will make pressing keys more stable, uniform and controlled. It will also have 4 USB C ports, which help make this Apple device thinner.

The MacBook Pro 2016 will most likely use Kaby Lake processors, have an SSD memory, and a couple of GPU options. It will likely come in 2 different screen sizes: 13-inch and 15-inch, and have various colors to choose from.

Release Date

The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be released this autumn. According to Mac World, the update is long overdue, and it's probably because the MacBook Pro will have major changes in it. The MacBook Pro announcement could be done in one event, or it could come quietly.
