Apple's MacBook Pro 2016 Not Getting a September Release Date

The MacBook Pro 2016 won't be released in September 2016 together with Apple's new line of iPhones, as previously hoped by fans.

A new report hints that Apple is not planning to release the MacBook Pro 2016 on September 7th, the date of the company's annual event where they release their brand new iPhones. Just like last year, it looks like Apple won't be releasing any MacBook next month as well.

According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple is overhauling its MacBook Pro 2016 line. The new laptop is highly anticipated by fans and critics because of its new hardware, design and upgraded features. According to the outlet that allegedly cited Apple insiders, the MacBook Pro 2016 will be thinner, more powerful and more efficient than its predecessors.

The MacBook Pro 2016 is still in the advanced testing phase and more likely, the laptops will not be released by September 7. Apple hopes that the MacBook Pro overhaul will increase the company's sales with notebooks as people prefer iPads instead. The company recommends replacing iPads every three years and iPhones at least every two years.

As for the specs of the MacBook Pro 2016, Mobipicker notes that it will be thinner and less heavy than the current MacBook Air, Apple's current slimmest notebook. The MacBook Pro 2016 was reported to have an OLED touch bar which will apparently replace the function keys in the screen.

The OLED will display functions according to the program the user is in. For example, they are on iTunes; the OLED will display music functions such as play, pause, stop and others. If they are on a word processor, there might be copy, cut, paste and more.

The MacBook Pro 2016 was reported to house Intel's latest Kaby Lake chips, making it more powerful than ever. It will also have the Advanced Micro Devices Inc. graphics chipset and the AMD Polaris graphics chip as well.

For its features, the MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to have fingerprint technology similar to the iPhones. This will be placed next to the OLED touch bar and will be used as an added security feature to authenticate the user. Another expected feature is the USB Type-C port which will combine all functions such as charging, data transfer and more.

It is not known when Apple plans to release the MacBook Pro 2016. If going with the reports that the laptop will be having Intel's Kaby Lake chips, the MacBook Pro 2016 will be most likely released by early 2017.
