MacBook Pro 2017 Rumors: To Feature Intel's Kaby Lake Processors?

2017 edition of the MacBook Pro expected to be released sometime during the fall season

Back when there was still a bit of confusion surrounding last year's MacBook Pro, there were some faint rumblings that it could be released with Intel's Kaby Lake processors included. That ultimately didn't happen, but things are expected to be different in 2017, as this year's version of the Apple laptop may finally feature that processor upgrade.

Earlier this year, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo mentioned that 13 and 15-inch versions of the laptop may arrive with the aforementioned Kaby Lake processors already inside, MacRumors reported.

The potential and perhaps even likely addition of the Kaby Lake processor can prove to be a very significant upgrade for the laptop.

Just as with other processor upgrades, the introduction of Intel's latest could bring with it easily noticeable performance enhancements that may be enough to represent a marked improvement for this year's laptop over the one introduced in 2016.

Those performance enhancements made possible by the Kaby Lake processor may have to do as well, as the 2017 edition of the MacBook Pro is currently not expected to feature significant design changes or additional features, though there are rumblings that it may offer increased memory once it is finally released.

Speaking of release dates, while nothing is set in stone just yet, there are hints that this laptop could make its official debut sometime during the fall season.

Ewan Spence of Forbes noted that Apple may offer the first, official look at this new laptop sometime in October, followed by it being made available inside stores a month later.

Kuo also mentioned that Kaby Lake-equipped laptops could go into mass production during the early part of the third quarter, and if that does indeed happen, then an October unveiling and full retail release in November seem plausible at the very least.

More news about the 2017 MacBook Pro should be made available soon.
