'Mad Men' Season 7 Spoilers: Jon Hamm Says Don Draper 'Dies Early'

"Mad Men" will not resume until next year, but fans of the hit series received a major hint about the seventh and final season this week.

Although series creator Matthew Weiner is very guarded about the plot- even requiring his actors to take an oath of secrecy- Jon Hamm recently revealed a major spoiler while discussing "Mad Men." The actor discussed the death of his character, Don Draper, during a drama actor's roundtable.

"Well, I die," Hamm said derisively, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "I think we can say that. Matt [Weiner] will be okay with that."

"Early, too. I die early," the actor added.

While Hamm's admission was telling, the actor was intentionally unspecific about the death of the "Mad Men" lead character. However, this is not the first time Hamm has cryptically referred to the AMC series. Last month, the actor said that the season seven finale of "Mad Men" would be "tricky."

"It's been a big, big, big part of my life, I've got a lot of really good friends in the cast and crew. It's going to be tricky," the actor told the Huffington Post when asked about the dramatic series drawing to a close.

While Hamm was referring to his own mixed emotions on the television series ending, his comments could hint at the content on the series finale, especially since Weiner recently revealed that Hamm is among the few who are privy to how the show will ultimately end. Hamm went on to explain his feelings, saying, "I'm not going to say I wish it wouldn't end, because everything has to end, but it is what it is. We're going to have an emotional journey once we wrap it up. We'll walk away and lock the door."

"Mad Men" season seven part two returns to AMC in April 2015.
