'Madam Secretary' News: Episode 9 'So it Goes' Recap, Episode 10 Plot

The Nov. 16 episode of "Madam Secretary" titled "So it Goes" sees Elizabeth, Henry and Isabelle launch their own investigation into the plane crash that killed the former Secretary of State Vincent Marsh.

The episode starts with a flashback from six months ago wherein Matt, Daisy, and Nadine are briefing Marsh on his talks with the Iranians. Marsh boards the plane to Colorado, and the plane experiences turbulence and the passengers are being badly jostled. He goes to the pilot's cockpit, and the pilot tells him that he has lost control of the plane and they are going to crash. Marsh replies, "And so it goes."

Elizabeth and Henry are listening to the tape recordings of the pilot the night when the plane went down. George thinks that it may have been sabotaged, and Elizabeth is beginning to suspect that he may be right. Any of the five maintenance men who had previous access to the plane could be responsible, and as they begin the search, Elizabeth fears that she could be the next one targeted.

Henry thinks that a faulty screw might have caused the crash, but no one looked into because the pilot reported turbulence as the cause of the accident. Later, Elizabeth gets a lead on one of the plane's technicians named John Catalano, and she learns that he has a hidden bank account in the Cayman Islands and that $500,000 was deposited in the account the day before the crash.

They manage to get him to come to the hotel on what he thought was an interview but was actually an interrogation. John said that he got a phone call saying that his daughter was in danger and that he received a video of his child at the school play, and lasers were pointed at her. He says he has no idea who sent the money and that he hasn't spent it.

Later, Matt tells Elizabeth that Walsh was planning to run against Dalton and Jackson didn't like it. Matt thinks that the president and Jackson may have something to do with it, and now Jackson wants him to spy on her. Elizabeth tells Matt to spy on her for Jackson, as she plans to use him as a double agent.

Here is the synopsis for episode 10, titled "Collateral Damage":

"The State Department goes on lockdown due to a deranged gunman outside of the building; and Elizabeth ends up confined with a delegation from Iraq, including a translator who threatens to reveal damaging information about her actions while in the CIA. Meanwhile, Matt finds himself stuck in the office, and in an awkward situation, with Daisy's fiancé Win," the summary reads.

"Madam Secretary" airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
