Madonna Gets Georgia May Jagger to Model Material Girl Fashion Line

Madonna got Georgia May Jagger to model as the newest face of her Material Girl line. The line is a project between the pop diva mother and her daughter, Lourdes.

Madonna will use Georgia May Jagger to model for the back-to-school campaign. The 20-year-old offspring of Mick Jagger and 1970s supermodel Jerry Hall is sure to lend her glamorous, rock-and-roll edge to the brand, taking over from past face of the campaign Kelly Osbourne.

"It's true," Jagger tweeted Wednesday. "I'm the new face of @MaterialGirl! I must say I LOVE working with Madonna + Lola."

Pop legend Madonna and her daughter, Lourdes Leon, handpicked Jagger to be the face of the "good girl gone bad" line, which sits in the marketable range for young teens. It also has a 1980s flair for some of the pieces- a time when Madonna was most influential in fashion.

Although it certainly isn't her first modeling contract, the daughter of Mick Jagger said she was "thrilled" to be taking the reins from big names like Kelly Osbourne and Taylor Momsen, who represented Material Girl in 2011 and 2010, respectively.

"To be handpicked by Madonna and Lola as the new face of Material Girl is truly amazing," the model said in a statement. "I've always admired Madonna's style and I'm thrilled to be working with them."

Despite her young age, Georgia May Jagger is experienced with the modeling world. The 5-foot-7-inch girl has been on various magazine covers like Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Elle. She has also graced campaigns for Hudson Jeans, H&M, and Rimmel with her image.

Most recently, she was featured on a Chanel cruise show at the Palais de Versailles, strutting her stuff down the runway.

Now, she will function as the premiere face behind the Material Girl fashion line, a relatively new brand launched in 2010. Madonna and her daughter sell it exclusively through Macy's in the U.S. and Canada. The adoption of Jagger, though, is an attempt to make the brand international- it will appear in Europe and Australia by summertime.
