'Major Crimes' Season 5 Episode 19: Provenza Considers Retiring

The upcoming episode of "Major Crimes" season 5 will see Lt. Provenza (G.W. Bailey) thinking about the possibility of retiring.

The synopsis of the next episode, titled "Intersection," states that Provenza will have had enough of the seemingly endless competition to one-up Russell Taylor (Robert Gossett). Because of this, he will consider the idea of retirement.

Meanwhile, Acting Assistant Chief Fritz Howard (Jon Tenney) assigns the Major Crimes team to take on the case of a tragic hit-and-run incident. Los Angeles is increasingly becoming a dangerous place, especially with cars and bikes always at each other's tails everywhere.

Provenza leaving is definitely going to be a sad moment in the series, reports CarterMatt. After all, he is one of the most beloved characters in "Major Crimes." After more than four seasons, it would definitely be heartbreaking to see another important figure go.

The publication points out that Provenza is the type of guy who likes to keep the drama to a minimum, especially when it comes to his personal and professional life. And with everyone at the office on edge, it does not seem like he will be able to take much more of it. With a sixth season on the horizon, fans are worried that they will not get to see Provenza anymore. However, they are keeping their hopes up.

Meanwhile, here is a brief recap of the previous episode, titled "Bad Blood."

Sharon's (Mary McDonnell) son, Ricky (Ryan Kennedy), paid her a visit and started taking care of her marriage annulment. However, it seemed like Sharon was not ready to let go of the past and move on with Andy (Tony Denison) because of her reluctance to annul her first marriage. She was also not sporting her engagement ring.

As for the team's case, they had to investigate the death of a retired LAPD fraud detective. And while they initially thought her murder was connected to an arrest she made in the past, they ultimately arrested the right guy.

"Major Crimes" season 5 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on TNT.
