Players are coming back from an International break and managers sometimes left disappointed at injuries picked up by their stars while playing for their countries. Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is one such manager, and will have to suffer an injury to David Silva who picked up a hamstring injury playing for Spain.

Jack Rodwell also injured himself and pulled a hamstring while on recent international duty, and he will join Javi Garcia and Maicon on the injury list.

West Brom are unbeaten at home so far this season, and have gotten of to a surprisingly good start in the Premier League. They currently sit sixth in the league with 14 points from their seven games so far.

However, they will have to protect their unbeaten home record against Premier League champions Manchester City today.

This same corresponding fixture last year resulted in a 0-0 draw between these two teams, and saw West Brom become the first team last season to stop City scoring in a game in a league fixture.

Mancini may also have one eye on their mid-week Champions League fixture against Ajax, and it is yet to be seen whether that will affect his team selection for today. Although West Brom's form suggests he will pick his best side for today's game.

Interestingly City have only gained one win in their past five matches at West Brom. Although West Brom have not scored against City in their past four games against them.
