'Manhattan Love Story' Premiere Spoilers, ABC TV Start Time: A New Rom-Com to Watch Out This Fall

A new romantic comedy "Manhattan Love Story" is scheduled to arrive in ABC with its pilot episode this coming Tuesday, Sept 30 at 8:30 p.m. at ABC.

A rather fresh take of the genre, "Manhattan Love Story" will follow a young couple Dana (Analeigh Tipton) and Peter (Jake McDorman) as they navigate the complicated terrain of modern-day dating.

"This romantic comedy exposes the differences between men and women through the unfiltered thoughts, and often contradictory actions, of a new couple who have just begun dating," the summary stated.

About the cast, Analeigh Tipton was first seen on TV when she joined "America's Next Top Model" in 2008. After placing third in the TV reality competition, the 25-year-old went on to pursue acting and later found herself in movies like "The Green Hornet" as well as on "Crazy, Stupid, Love."

Jake McDorman on the other hand, first made his appearance in the creepy TV show "The Craiglist Killer." He has then starred in NBC's "Are You There, Chelsea?" and in Showtime's "Shameless."

In a report by IBTimes, they pointed out that "Manhattan Love Story" will sound reminiscent from previous rom-coms like "What Women Want" and "The Ugly Truth."

Of course, there's a women-centric kind of storytelling.

"Although our protagonist is purse-obsessed and deficient when it comes to technology, she proves to have depth and a whole lot of spunk. She's not afraid to call out Peter for sexualizing her on their dinner date and has a strong sense of self when it comes to her career," the site went on to describe the show.

They further quoted lead star Tipton's interview during the TCA Press Tour.

"It really was difficult for me to have to kind of get into Dana's head. But we have some incredible, feisty female writers that they put together. And I think, as the characters develop, Jeff and the producers, they've been so incredibly open to really tapping into what real women think," she explained.
